Atkinsons

www.atkinsons.it

A story which has the scent of an enterprising and aristocratic England.

In 1799 James Atkinsons left his native Cumberland to try his luck in London. James soon made a name for himself by selling attractive jars of rose-scented bear grease, to be used as ointment for men's beard, hair and moustaches. The legend tells that he kept a bear tied outside his first little shop in Gerrard Street to advertise his products.

The same style that made Atkinsons in 1826 become the preferred perfume brand of the Royal Family and the later renowned Perfume House in Old Bond Street. From here personalized fragrances and perfumes were sent to clients all over the world, including the Tsarina of Russia, prince Tomasi di Lampedusa and the actress Sarah Bernardt.

A perfect balance of respect and good manners, serenity and politeness to savour each day  the pleasure of a discreet, classic and unique style.
